In August 2024, we celebrate our ninth anniversary as a company driving innovation and technological development in urban mobility and public transportation. Since our founding in 2015 in Santiago, Chile, we have led the transformation of urban mobility systems by integrating transportation and software engineering to develop advanced solutions that promote efficiency, accessibility, and intelligence in transportation.
Our journey began at the University of Chile in collaboration with the Institute of Complex Engineering Systems (ISCI). Since then, we have come a long way: the development of our first application, Transapp, marked the beginning of our work in delivering real-time information on public transportation. Later, we launched Inspector Transapp, a key tool for improving public transport oversight, which earned us the SOCHITRAN recognition in 2019 for exemplifying best practices in transport infrastructure interventions.
These innovations led us to work with the Ministry of Transport of Chile on national projects such as Red Movilidadand expand internationally through initiatives like 501 Transit, in collaboration with the government of Belize and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), aimed at optimizing public transportation and enhancing urban mobility across diverse contexts.
Felipe Hernández, CEO and co-founder of Transapp, shared his thoughts on the company’s future: “Transapp’s future is international, with a presence that is not only regional but global. We aim to be a company without physical limits, offering innovative and scalable solutions that meet the transportation industry’s needs across different contexts.”
Regarding our impact in Chile, Hernández highlighted, “We have provided transformative solutions that didn’t exist before, with over a million users benefiting from our products and services. However, the challenge remains to innovate to meet the growing needs of our users.”
This year, our anniversary celebration included recreational activities to promote teamwork and strengthen relationships among team members. As a company, we continually reinforce our organizational culture through initiatives that foster cohesion and a sense of belonging within the team.
Hernández also took the opportunity to send a message to the team: “Transapp is its team. I am deeply grateful to each member for their commitment and dedication. It is essential that we take care of our individual and collective well-being to continue making a positive difference responsibly and effectively.”
With nine years of experience, we look to the future with the goal of continuing to grow and lead the development of solutions that transform urban mobility.
